Assyr Abdulle Lecture

The Assyr Abdulle Lecture is a public lecture given periodically by a visitor of the Bernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies. Prof. Assyr Abdulle was a faculty member at the Mathematics Institute at EPFL from 2009 until 2021. He was a world-renowned expert in the field of numerical methods for stochastic differential equations and multiscale problems. He was a passionate researcher engaged in promoting mathematics at EPFL. He was in particular engaged in the development of the Youth at Bernoulli program. This public lecture celebrates his memory. EPFL receives 5 medals at the International Maths Competition

Following the Maths competition organised by the Bernoulli Center on Campus last May, five EPFL students traveled to Bulgaria this summer to compete in the International Maths Competition (IMC). The team did extremely well, ranking 20th out of 90 teams and bringing back 1 gold medal (Vladyslav Shashkov) and 4 silver medals (Mathis Duguin, Benjamin Faltin, Mehdi Hachimi and Gabriel Jiminez Colles). Martin Hairer

Martin Hairer appointed Co-Director

Following the rebirth of the Bernoulli Center and its inauguration last November, we are happy to announce that Prof. Martin Hairer has joined the Bernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies as Co-Director, alongside Prof. Emmanuel Abbé, starting January 1, 2023. Martin Hairer is a Professor of Mathematics working in the field of stochastic analysis, in particular stochastic partial differential equations. He is a Professor of Mathematics at EPFL and at Imperial College London. He previously held appointments at the University of Warwick and the Courant Institute of New York University. Inauguration of the Bernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies

 Rolex Learning Center On November 11, 2022, the scientific community will celebrate the inauguration of EPFL’s new Bernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies at the EPFL Rolex Learning Center.
