Call for (long-term) Research Programmes 2028 is open. The deadline for proposal submissions is 31 March 2027 and the period covered by the call is January to December 2028. 

The call to submit proposals for short research programmes (typically one week) for 2028 will open in April 2027 with a submission deadline at the end of June 2027. The Bernoulli Center for Fundamental Studies invites EPFL professors, lecturers and postdocs to submit programme proposals that may include conferences, workshops, summer schools, or other types of scientific collaborative events, and may involve external collaborators. Selected events will benefit from the Bernoulli Center’s facilities in the GA building, along with partial funding support. Please note that the Bernoulli Center funding will typically not cover all expenses, so organisers are generally expected to supplement support through their chairs or other sources. In a typical scenario, the Bernoulli Center would cover local expenses. Flexibility in preferred dates is also appreciated to help optimise facility scheduling.

Priority will be given to proposals scheduled before or during summer 2028. A second call for proposals covering the autumn semester of 2028 is planned for later in 2027.

Applications should consist of one- to two-page letter sent to bernoulli@epfl.ch 

The proposal should include:

• A brief description of the programme and its objectives
• The organisers (with at least one main organiser based at EPFL)
• Key envisioned participants
• Preferred dates
• Funding request with a rough budget
