This summer school is part of the Bernoulli Center programme, however it will not take place at the Bernoulli Center.
It is a joint-event EPFL-ETHZ taking place on the EPFL campus (precise room to be confirmed)
This event will bring together scientists from around the globe to explore emerging approaches to evolving biological systems, particularly proteins beyond their natural capabilities. Geared toward both theoreticians and experimentalists, the discussions will focus on advanced computational models, evolutionary algorithms, and synthetic biology techniques for harnessing and beating evolution to engineer novel protein functions. Participants will examine the interplay between mathematical results and biological evolution, unlocking new possibilities in protein design, function prediction, and bioengineering, pushing the boundaries of what life can do at the molecular level.
