The workshop aims to give an overview of Michel Benaïm’s research, to formulate and exchange on problems inspired by his work, and to foster collaborations in the areas of mathematics dear to him. It is organized on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Michel has had a profound impact in several areas of mathematics, in particular probability, random dynamics, game theory, and mathematical biology.
The following subjects will be highlighted:
- Algorithms for stochastic approximation
- Game theory
- Self-interacting processes
- Population dynamics
- Piecewise deterministic Markov processes
- Quasi-stationary distributions.
The workshop unites collaborators of Michel Benaïm and researchers influenced by his mathematics. At the same time, we intend to attract early-career researchers with a particular focus on researchers working in Switzerland.
