Following the Maths competition organised by the Bernoulli Center in June, EPFL students traveled to Bulgaria early August to compete in the International Mathematics Competition for University Students 2024 (IMC).
The students achieved excellent results with 4 gold medals (Mathys Douma, Vladyslav Shashkov, Luca Pana, Viacheslav Surkov) with 3 also receiving a special prize from Huawei, 3 silver medals (Jonah Osterwalder, Benjamin Faltin, Vlad Burca), 1 bronze medal (Iustinian-Cristian Constantinescu) and 1 honorable mention (Adrian Karol Fluder).

As a team, they took 7th place, a significant improvement from last year’s 20th place, which is particularly impressive given that this is only the second year EPFL has participated in this event.
