Congratulations to the 2026 Fields Medallists !

The Bernoulli Center would like to warmly congratulate Yu Deng, John Pardon, Jacob Tsimerman and Hong Wang on being awarded the 2026 Fields Medals, one of the highest distinctions in mathematics.

The four mathematicians were honoured during the opening ceremony of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) held in Philadelphia, USA, on 23 July 2026. Their achievements represent outstanding contributions across several areas of contemporary mathematics.

We are particularly delighted to see Prof Hong Wang among this year’s laureates as we had the great pleasure of welcoming her to the EPFL Campus only a few weeks earlier, as a speaker at the Journée Georges de Rham.

On that occasion, Prof. Wang gave an insightful lecture on Kakeya sets in R³, sharing with the audience some of the ideas behind her remarkable work in harmonic analysis.
