This workshop is part of the Bernoulli Center programme at EPFL, to be held from 02 to 06 February 2026.
In recent years, origami-inspired structures have found a wide range of applications, from deployable solar arrays for space exploration to architectural structures and medical devices, each benefiting from the functional advantages of folding. At the same time, these structures present rich opportunities for theoretical investigation, ranging from computational complexity theory to differential geometry. The Structural Origami Gathering (SOG) is a network of researchers from diverse fields including mathematics, computer science, engineering, architecture, and art. It aims to advance the understanding of origami structures and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
